A Family for Bethlehem’s Elderly Women
Overview
Founded in 2010, St Martha’s House is Ahdaf’s first project: a warm day-care community in the heart of Bethlehem where elderly Christian women—mostly widows aged 70–95—find companionship, hot lunches, light activities, and faith-filled support. More than a facility, it is a second family.

Why It Matters
Loneliness and poverty are among the greatest challenges facing elderly women in Bethlehem. Many are widowed, their children have emigrated, and days pass in silence. St Martha’s House replaces isolation with belonging, dignity, and joy.
“St Martha’s House is my second home. When I come here, I feel alive again.”
